Milla Jovovich in Campari Calendar 2012 - part 2

Here is part two of the series of shots from the Campari 2012 calendar.

One of the most highly anticipated calendars every year (the 2012 edition will be the 11th for the brand), pictured here are the July-December photos, with the last image the back cover of the calendar.

Milla Jovovich in Campari Calendar 2012

The 2012 Campari Calendar - now in its 13th edition - was just unveiled in Milan, Italy.

Entitled "It’s the end of the world, baby!", this year’s Campari Calendar takes its inspiration from the [bizarre] prediction that, according to the ancient Mayan culture, the world as we know will end on 21st December 2012 and enter a 'transformative' period.

Campari’s answer to this gloom and doom?

They've taken a far more positive approach on all the intriguing theories spelling 'the end', with actress and model Milla Jovovich demonstrating their [glamorous] takes on exactly how the world will end.

The scenarios are inspired from modern cinematography, mythological and biblical origins, and Milla's co-star - Campari - features in every shot.

Milla Jovovich comments on her experience: “As a model and an actress, this was an exciting new challenge for me, combining the skills to bring to life each of the hypothetical events in a theatrical, yet sophisticated way. What attracted me most to the project was the powerful inspiration behind it, as well as the positive approach of celebrating life with a special toast, with friends and family.”

Photographer Dimitri Daniloff shot the calendar. The Parisian-born lensman said: “I relish the opportunity to work with raw ideas like this, so when Campari briefed me on the inspiration, featuring a world of fantasy, it was the perfect project for me. I wanted to interpret each scenario in the most positive light, and I really seeked to recreate the events in a surreal and very choreographic way. The dresses, the styling and the set were a huge part of the real scenography, and other times it was just an elaborate hairstyle and accurate make up but, most importantly, it was Milla that was the star of the shoot, exuding ultimate glamour.”

Bob Kunze-Concewitz, CEO of Gruppo Campari, said: “This year we’ve really pushed the creative boundaries as we’ve chosen to take a real imaginative look at the possibilities to come, in what is hyped as a transformative period. It is our mission as an aperitif to offer Campari lovers an intense, positive moment during this time, to celebrate whatever may happen and make a toast to life. With Milla’s mysterious, intriguing style, she was a perfect choice as the interpreter of this concept. Additionally, there was no one better than Dimitri to bring to life the mystery and fantasy that inspire the images.”

Only 9,999 copies of the Campari Calendar are printed and are not actually for sale - they will be distributed to friends of Campari internationally.

Here are the first six months worth of shots... with more in the next post.

Jeannie Mai and 'How Do I Look?' launch event - and big reveal filming - TONIGHT!

Last night was the launch event for the new season of US smash hit makeover show 'How Do I Look?' - to screen in Australia on Thursdays on the Style channel on Foxtel and Austar, starting November 3 at 7.30pm.

Special guest was of course show's host, the inimitable Jeannie Mai, the most bubbly, genuine, beautiful-inside-and-out celebrity I have ever come across.

Taking the opportunity to have a one-on-one chat with all her guests, Jeannie remembered names, occupations, like and dislikes... it was extraordinary.

Flying across with her was a Style network exec named Taylor, whom I chatted with, as well as her fabulous makeup artist (Jeannie sported THE most dazzling lips I have ever seen - more on that in a future blog post), and the obligatory big, burly bodyguard.

The event was also the first red carpet launch which Josie's Juice readers were given the opportunity to attend.

Three readers were able to bring along their guests and enjoy the event. I can vouch that Alyson, Elle, and Nessa had the opp to meet their idol. And I can vouch that they are HUGE fans.

In fact, Elle is off to see the 'big reveal' taping this evening at the Cargo Hall, Corner of George and Argyle Streets, The Rocks, between 8pm - 9.30pm.

This 'reveal' is the last leg in the special taping of an Australian makeover candidate for the show. Taylor was telling me all about her last night and she sounds like a 'corker' case - someone very much in need of a makeover, whose transformation happened not only on the outside, it extended to the inside, too.

This very special Australian episode will air as the season twelve finale, on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7.30pm, only on the Style channel.

If you're keen to witness the big reveal to be filmed this evening head to the Cargo Hall tonight!

Keds: the comfiest shoe - and wedge - ever

Love a wedge but a little afraid you'll topple over in the latest sky-high offerings?

I may just have found your fave new shoe for the season!

The latest Spring/Summer 2011 range from classic US shoe brand Keds is here and in amongst the much-loved styles of Keds (with a twist - how can you not love the leopard Keds?) are some new wedges. With just the right platform height, and a lovely oh-so-comfy sole padding happening, it's the perfect new shoe you won't want to take off.

Trust me: on my first road-test there were no sore feet to speak of when I took them off.

In two versions of nautical, they'll soon become your blue-jeans-and-white-tee staple.

Prefer a flattie? Go for new Keds with a pop of colour, or the zebra print!

And blokes... yes, there are some for you too (the classic white with navy trim pictured here are so versatile for the boys - wear with long shorts or faded denim).

Dubbed the ‘Original Sneaker’ since 1916, the brand has perfectly blended old school cool with new style nous. Nice.

For stockists, call 03 8878 3000 or see the brand's website at www.authentics.com.au

Or visit your local David Jones store and snap them up, pronto (priced from $59.95).
The new collection is onsale now.

Meet 'How Do I Look?' Star Jeannie Mai

Want to meet 'How Do I Look?' star Jeannie Mai this Thursday October 27?

Now is your chance!

Three Josie's Juice readers will be given the opportunity to meet Jeannie Mai at a private cocktail party in Sydney on Thursday evening, and bring along a guest to enjoy the experience.

The popular fashion intervention series on TV's Style Network (seen here on Foxtel and Austar) 'How Do I Look?' and its energetic host and fashion expert Jeannie Mai, are in town to advise the, er, stylistically-challenged in a special production set in Sydney.

On each episode of 'How Do I Look?' Jeannie meets with a nominated 'fashion victim' for a candid interview about her inadequate sense of style. Once confronted, Jeannie directs the 'victim’s' family and friends (or 'accomplices') to single out the items that they find exceptionally appalling, and Jeannie then disposes of them through the “Ewww Tube” which vacuums clothes up through the ceiling and out of her life forever.

Following this tough love, the accomplices and stylist hit the shops to create their own distinct wardrobe collection for the 'victim’s' consideration. Without knowing which family member or friend pulled together the choices, the, um, walking fashion disaster discovers a new appreciation for clothes as they choose their favourite outfits from each of the mystery collections.

The candidate then debuts her new look, and renewed confidence before an eager audience in that includes Jeannie, the accomplices and other friends and family.

With a global following, Jeannie Mai is one popular, much-loved woman. If you're a fan, now is your chance to meet her!

Just drop a line in the comments box, or send an email (see the 'contact' tab on this site) with your details. Easy. Do it!

For more on the show, see: http://www.mystyle.com/mystyle/shows/howdoilook/index.jsp

The new season of 'How Do I Look?' returns Thursday November 3 at 7.30pm, on the Style Network, on Foxtel and Austar.

And here is Jeannie May in action:

Kristin Davis - first photos: her baby girl

In this week's issue of Who magazine, onsale today, former 'Sex & the City' star Kristin Davis shows off her baby daughter, Gemma Rose.

In the accompanying article she explains why she chose adoption and how becoming a single mum at the age of 46 has given her a new lease on life.

“It’s a huge change, but one I am so ready for,” she says.

Kristin invited Who magazine into her Los Angeles home, and the actress - who has followed the same path of adoption as SATC character Charlotte - says she has been surprised by her newfound love of motherhood.

“I love taking care of Gemma more than I ever could have imagined.”

Don't know about you but I am blissed out reading this story. A woman wanting to care for and raise a child. A child who needs love and a home. Perfection.

Also in this week's issue is a candid interview with singer Ricki-Lee Coulter, telling of her darkest days following the breakdown of her marriage in 2008.

With a new global deal with record company EMI and shedding 30kg (she is currently the weight-loss poster-girl for me) she is back and looking and feeling better than ever.

This week's issue of Who is onsale now until next Thursday.

Kezini: Brazilian-inspired swimwear for bootylicious women

Australian designer Kerri Meggitt has just launched her unique and sexy swimwear range in Australia, using a Brazilian-inspired cut to make the most of the average Aussie woman’s assets.

Five years ago, herself blessed with generous curves, Kerri was frustrated that she couldn’t find a suitable bikini to complement her shape.

With a curvier shape and generous derriere, Kerri was determined to design a range of bikinis that would cater to the hoardes of Aussie women who also have a voluptuous butt.

And so, Kezini was born.

Already launched in August this year in Kerri’s home-town of Brisbane at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, the Kezini range has already been lauded for its innovative style and signature twist on the usual cossie.

Exclusively available online at www.kezini.com, Kerri’s first range uses the universally flattering black and white palette, including the super-sexy one-piece or 'monokini'.

Tops and bottoms can be bought separately, so women who are one size on top and another below – who isn't? –can choose to perfectly suit their body.

Says Kerri, “It has been a huge project, but I have loved every minute of creating this pretty and cheeky range for Australian women. Once the idea of the cheeky Brazilian-inspired style popped into my head, I knew this was the answer: instead of hiding it, why not take a leaf out of their book and celebrate the fuller derriere. I believe Kezini achieves this.”

The Kezini collection is now available; to buy, go here: www.kezini.com
