Alex Perry for Magnolia Jewellery collection: blogger breakfast

A breakfast at Watsons Bay's Dunbar House, with Alex Perry, for Magnolia jewellery?

I didn't have to be asked twice.

And so, on a glorious Thursday morning Alex hosted a bevy of bloggers and writers at an exclusive breakfast to celebrate the launch of his new jewellery line, simply called Alex Perry for Magnolia.

Being in a room with fellow bloggers is always fantastic - it shows how today's smart PR has embraced this very active, very vocal online community.

So: breakfast. The most divine breakfast of eggs and bacon and fancy hash browns and pastries and good, good coffee... made even more delicious with that stunning view.

Alex had given a short and sweet and humble speech [now that man is crazy talented, an incredible couturier, and now an equally talented high-end jewellery designer] and into breakfast we tucked. We didn't stay at our lushly set tables long [think Waterford crystal, Royal Albert teaware, and Wedgwood sugar bowls and creamers; yes, I asked] - we were up and inspecting all the intricate yet gorgeously simple pieces strewn across the tables and glassware and beautiful flower arrangements.

Alex has created a breathtaking 40 piece collection of fine silver jewellery. It's Mediterranean-inspired and cleverly contrasts natural stones like rose quartz, blue agate and lapis against the sparkle of cubic zirconia.

Says Alex: "When you put on jewellery that is really beautiful, it makes you feel special. It’s hard to describe and define what that feeling is, but I see it when women try something spectacular on. It transforms them, it makes them feel really great, and that euphoric feeling of confidence that you can see in their faces is what I wanted all my jewellery to achieve."

The six collections within the range are all uniquely different to one another, yet they complement each other in a way only a designer like Alex Perry would know how to do. From the glamorous Aegean Princess collection to the stackable macramé 'holiday bracelets', Alex Perry has added his own personal touch to a myriad of jewellery styles.

“A big part of this collaboration for me was to make quality and distinguishable jewellery accessible to women of all ages, styles and backgrounds, and to make it a price that isn’t exclusive to anybody”. With prices starting at $59, now's the time to own a 'piece' of Alex Perry via his for Magnolia Silver Jewellery range.

It was time for Alex to leave and an impromptu 'selfie' followed - Alex is luv-erly, funny, and extremely approachable.

We all left with a lovely memento from the day - a gorgeous bracelet from the Artermis holiday bracelet collection, as featured below. So very beautiful. [Magnolia's lovely PR Maffy gifted me an extra one for my daughter Estella... I have put it away for one day when it will fit her teeny wrist].

Here's more from the gorgeous collection:

This is Alex Perry’s first foray into silver jewellery design, and Magnolia Silver Jewellery’s second collaboration. Launched in 1996, Magnolia Silver Jewellery has grown to become the world’s largest silver fashion jewellery retailer, with more than 150 stores worldwide. All Magnolia pieces actually undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet quality standards and are backed by a one-year, unlimited product warranty for peace of mind – this is a rarity in the silver jewellery retail market.
