Hollywood actress and stunning beauty Zoe Saldana has just been announced as the new international spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris.

Here is the video below, featuring the eloquent, beautiful actress (I am a huge fun of her interviews; she seems a very clever woman), whose father hails from the Dominican Republic, and mother from Puerto Rico. She's hugely proud of her Latin culture and speaks Spanish, and of course, English.

The official statement from L'Oreal Paris says:

"We are delighted to officially announce that Zoe Saldana is the new International Spokesperson of L'Oréal Paris! Zoe Saldana, epitome of a true Hollywood star, and widely renowned for her role as Neytiri in sci-fi Award-winning blockbuster Avatar, has built her reputation as a versatile and respected international actress by casting eclectic roles with passion. The radiant and versatile Hollywood actress is a welcome addition to the L'Oreal Paris family!"

Here is the video, with the breathtaking photos just released by L'Oreal:

Royal Couple New Photo + Australia and New Zealand Itinerary

What's not to love about the young royals?

In a new photo just released (photo: ©Jason Bell/Camera Press/Austral) the royal couple show their adorable little family, which includes their eight month old son Prince George and dog Lupo  (which means 'wolf' in Italian! Love that).

Let's take a moment to look at the unbearable cuteness of George.

The royal couple are currently preparing for little George’s first official trip and first public tour to Australia and New Zealand in April.

The Duke and Duchess revealed in early March that they would be taking their son with them on the trip because they simply could not be away from their first born "for so long".

"It's a tremendously exciting visit and I can tell you Their Royal Highnesses are looking forward to it immensely," Prince William’s private secretary, Miguel Head said at a media briefing at Kensington Palace.

The young royals' three week trip will see William and Catherine visit 13 major cities with Prince George's new Spanish nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo accompanying them.

The royal couple will arrive in Australia on April 16.

Here is their travel itinerary:

NEW ZEALAND ITINERARY

• Wellington (April 7 and 9, April 16)
• Blenheim (April 10)
• Auckland (April 11)
• Hamilton and Cambridge (April 12)
• Dunedin (April 13)
• Queenstown (April 13)
• Christchurch (April 14)

AUSTRALIA ITINERARY

• Sydney, NSW (April 16, 18, 20)
• Blue Mountains, NSW (April 17)
• Brisbane, QLD (April 19)
• Uluru (Ayer's Rock), NT (April 22)
• Adelaide, SA (April 23)
• Canberra, ACT (April 24, 25)

Will you go see the royals when they come to town?

Gwyneth Paltrow separation statement on Goop: what went wrong

With this sweet personal photo and a blog post on her own site 'Goop', Gwyneth Paltrow announced her marriage to Chris Martin is over.

The Oscar winning actress and the Coldplay frontman have been married for just over a decade and have announced today they are separating.

The post on her site sent it crashing.

Here it is, below:

Conscious Uncoupling

It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

Love,
Gwyneth & Chris

It's funny what we feel when we hear about a celeb split. When I heard the news I was parked and heard Jackie O (from the 'Kyle and Jackie O show') read it as she got the news, and the longtime fan of Gwyn was actually very moved and in tears.

My reaction was: "really? I thought they'd last!" Truth is, of course, I know diddly squat about the relationship.

The odds were said to be stacked against them, apparently.

Celeb gossip news site Perez Hilton reported in February that a source close to the couple told him their relationship was in jeopardy. Chris Martin is said to want to move back to England, to be closer to his family and band mates, while Paltrow is keen to remain in Los Angeles.

Chris has said about his wife in the past:

“It's a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an Oscar winner? It's a giant leap. Let's face it; it's like winning the lottery.”

For her part, in an article in 2013 in Good Housekeeping magazine, Paltrow acknowledges that marrying Martin was the best decision in her life, although she did concede to Glamour UK magazine:

"It's hard being married," she told the magazine last June. "You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We're the same as any couple."

She recently told Marie Claire magazine: "Last night, I was talking about that with my husband: it gets more complicated. The problems are getting more serious and I notice that they need me more now than even when they were very little.”

The couple have two primary school aged children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7

'The Voice' Italy: Suor Cristina Scuccia - VIDEO

Have you seen this yet?

Twenty eight million people (and counting) have.

It's a blind audition from 'The Voice' Italy… and this nun is on fire.

There is so much I love about this (and I thank two of my Italo-Australian friends for showing me this link). She's a nun and she can belt out a tune (Alicia Keys!) like nobody's business. She's Sicilian. I get to see Raffaela Carra' (so part of my youth) again. I get to hear awesome Italian accents and that golden language (proper Italian, not Sicilian dialect!) again.

Here is the translated video blurb from YouTube:

"Sister Cristina Scuccia 25 years old, is Sicilian but lives in Milan and is an Orsolina nun of the Holy Family.

Her childhood dream was to become a singer, in 2008 the Orsolina Sisters organize a music hall in which she finds herself by chance.

A non-believer, and against the Church ... she instead finds Love.

Insecure in life, she is convinced by her Mother Superiors in participating to The Voice of Italy ... this is now her mission!"

Watch Sister Scuccia smash it here:

Malaysia Airlines MH370 Text Message Confirmation

The news in a few hours ago RE: the Malaysia Airlines missing flight MH370, and it's dire and not what anyone hoped, but sadly, what most of us expected: flight MH370 has gone down, and there are no survivors.

Says smh.com.au:

A new, unprecedented satellite tracking technique is what gave Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak enough confidence to announce that Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went down in the remote south of the Indian Ocean.

For more, click here.

Sadly, the family of the passengers onboard were notified by this actual text, below:

It's brutal, it's upsetting, it's a mechanical, robotic delivery, devoid of emotion.

It's not the way you want to the told the news you dreaded.

I have to wonder though, how should the families have been told? By phone, one by one? That makes sense, yes. But who gets told first, who will be delivering the news? Upon delivery, the questions and extreme grief ensues. I don't know that the text message is the problem - it's just the tipping point of how the whole thing was handled, from beginning to end. And really, this is just the beginning of the grief. It's all manner of devastating, every single part of it.

Updated: Sydney's Nine News bulletin has resorted that most families were contacted by telephone and when some were uncontactable, they received the news by text, above.

Again, all of it is deeply sad and upsetting, and none of the news is good.

Kim Kardashian Kanye West Vogue April 2014: Cover, Photos + Video

The magazine cover bandied around the world for the past few days - the April edition of US Vogue, featuring Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - is on sale today.

Here it is, with photos from the entire shoot below:

Also just in: the Vogue behind-the-scenes video with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and baby North on set of the April cover shoot with Annie Leibovitz:

Here are all the photos from the Vogue shoot:

The interview from Vogue begins:

From London to Paris to Los Angeles, Hamish Bowles joins Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in their quest for world domination—and the perfect wedding dress.
The fast-cooling Los Angeles afternoon air is filled with the scent of eucalyptus and mimosa, the gurgle of water as it tumbles down a fountain wall into a picture-perfect azure pool, the exultant strains of Pharrell Williams’s “Happy,” and a chorus of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm,” performed in unhappy a cappella by Annie Leibovitz and Kris Jenner.

The frantic warblings of this unlikely duo are intended to entertain the geographically named North West, perched between her father, Kanye West, creative polyglot, and his fiancée, North’s mother, Kim Kardashian, cultural phenomenon—or Kimye, as the media has dubbed the telegenic pair while it relentlessly tracks their every move.  North (“Kanye’s side of the family calls her Nori,” says Kim) is poised on her mother’s knee, a knee that is currently enveloped in a fall of Lanvin satin the color and consistency of double cream, fashioned by Alber Elbaz into a wedding dress of fifties haute couture magnificence. The dress is a fitting complement to Kim’s voluptuous movie-star beauty, with her flashing Ava Gardner looks and Sophia Loren figure that have helped to establish a new contemporary body paradigm after an era of waifs.

Adam Boland: 'Australian Story' - VIDEO

I came home at the end of 'Australian Story' and realised, as I flicked to channel to ABC1, I missed the story I really wanted to see tonight: a profile on extraordinarily successful TV producer Adam Boland, and his struggle with depression (and bipolar disorder). Thing is, I have been stuck in my own depresso-hole today, caring for my elderly mother who was in hospital. People who know depression, really are acquainted with this cruel beast, know that it pops its ugly, unwelcome head from time to time, and sometimes it stays and sometimes it goes.

Right from the start, I have always liked Adam Boland's absolute willingness and determination to speak up about mental illness, in this instance, his bipolar disorder.

Having launched Sunrise, The Morning Show (on Channel 7) and then Wake Up! and Studio10 on Channel 7, this is a determined, ridiculously talented man, who has stopped at nothing to be at the top of his game.

In Australian Story this evening - watch it here NOW - Adam reveals the full extent of his mental health, at a time when his career was soaring. And, we see what led to his decision to leave TV altogether.

"I am desperate to find out who I am without television," Adam Boland told 'Australian Story'.
"I think I've always seen myself by what's printed on my business card.
"Without that identity I'm not entirely sure who I am, and that's a scary thought."
And his former boss at 7, Peter Meakin, reveals the man he was:

"He's one of the most talented people I've ever worked with but he doesn't have an off switch. If he could find an off switch that would be his salvation," he said.

Adam himself says:

"There is a stigma and I think the media has a duty to help smash that. Mental illness is as valid as any other illness," says Adam.
Adam's mother b says about her son: "When he says I'm finished with TV, I think is TV finished with you?"
An unmissable ep of 'Australian Story, essential viewing for destigmatising and learning more about mental health.

More about the new Pantene formula: it's free from added silicone*, dye and paraben for hair 'so healthy it shines.'

It's available in store and online now.

P&G (the company behind many of Australia’s favourite brands including Olay, Oral-B and SK-II) introduces Pantene Ice Shine, Pantene’s new silicone (shampoo only), dye and paraben-free collection that protects against damage to give you a healthy, natural looking shine with zero weight and zero residue.

Designed to care for hair that feels weighed down, looks lifeless and lacks shine, the Pantene Ice Shine collection works to smooth the hair’s cuticle providing intensive nourishment and allowing hair to 'shine from within'.

Pantene Ice Shine shampoo - with no added silicone - cleanses oil and dirt residue gently, whilst the conditioner - with no added dye or paraben - leaves hair conditioned and rinses away quickly.

Pantene ambassador and beauty expert, Zoe Foster, comments: “I feel like this was made specifically for me (thanks guys, that was very thoughtful of you) because I have fine hair that is coloured, heat- styled daily, and heaving with product. The fact that Pantene Ice Shine removes most product build up as it cleans, protects my hair from damage, and is paraben, silicone* and dye free, means I get healthy looking, lightweight hair that isn't limp or flat in a day or two. It's pretty much a miracle, really.”

Pantene Expert Hairstylist, Barney Martin, comments: “Fine hair can often look limp and lifeless, but the new Pantene Ice Shine combats this by providing protection against damage with virtually no weight. The formula provides finer hair with the perfect balance between delivering incredible shine to strands while remaining pure and free from silicones*, paraben and dye.”

Here is the Pantene Ice Shine Collection:

Pantene Ice Shine Shampoo 350ml

Kim Kardashian Make-Under: 'Celebrities Undercover'

Kim Kardashian's make-under

Pretty impressive transformation.

The E! star was completely unrecognisable during Tuesday's debut of 'Celebrities Undercover' a new Oxygen series executive-produced by talk show host Wendy Williams.
In the episode, Kim K is transformed into "Cynthia" via a curly wig, glasses and fake teeth to see if she could fool a few of her fans.
She joined some other women in an office to be "interviewed" for a job as Kardashian's assistant, and their loyalty is quickly put to the test by way of a made-up story about Kardashian hooking up with Eminem.
Later, at her home, Kim reveals her true identity to womenmuch to their surprise.
"I have something to tell you," she said as she slowly took off her disguise. "You've been with Kim all day. You have been with me all day."
Sister Kourtney, who happened to be sitting in the room with all of them, was shocked that Cynthia was actually her sibling.
Other celebs who are slated to appear as somebody else in future episodes include FantasiaJoey Fatone, L'il Kim,Ice-T and Coco.

L'Wren Scott - Mick Jagger's girlfriend - dead at 49

In sad news just in, fashion designer L'Wren Scott has been found dead after hanging herself in her Manhattan apartment on Monday morning (US time).

Scott was said to be distraught and ‘embarrassed’ over her failing business, as she owed nearly $6million to creditors, MailOnline has said.

A spokesman for Mick Jagger said the singer, who is in Australia as part of the Rolling Stones tour, was 'completely shocked and devastated' following the news of her death.

When asked if they were still in a relationship at the time of her death, he replied ‘of course’.

The designer, 49, was found by her assistant and there was no immediate suspicion of foul play though the Medical Examiner has not yet released the formal report.

Scott has dressed many celebs on the red carpet, including fan Nicole Kidman, who had an apartment in the same building Scott died.

Sarah Jessica Parker was also a huge fan and worse her designs, and said that Scott 'was one who seemed to come naturally to joy'.

'She was a joyous participant, a planner. She really enjoyed company and occasions. There was a delight to her that is hard to imagine extinguished,' Parker told Women's Wear Daily

'She didn't reveal another side to me but of course... we are all complex as human beings and I wouldn't have claimed to be privy to that other part of late.

'She had discipline, skill and talent and the recognition was an enormous source of pride for her because she waited so long and worked so diligently (on her career).'

Fans including Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama. She had even been tipped to design Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress, says the Daily Mail.

Extremely sad.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 diverted by ‘deliberate action’, pilots under scrutiny amid hijack fears

This just in from news.com.au regarding the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH730:

THE pilot and co-pilot of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 are being newly investigated after Malaysia’s Prime Minister confirmed “deliberate actions” are behind the plane’s disappearance.
The US intelligence community is leaning towards the theory that “those in the cockpit” - pilot Captain Zaharie Shah and his co-pilot Fariq Abdul - were deliberately responsible for whatever happened to the plane, a US official told CNN.
According to British media reports, police are investigating the possibility that Captain Shah hijacked his own aircraft in a political protest.
The pilot was a political fanatic and “obsessive” supporter of Malaysia’s opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, The Mail on Sunday says.

Malaysia confirms Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 was hijacked

Investigators have concluded that one or more people with significant flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, switched off communication devices and steered it off-course, a Malaysian government official involved in the investigation said this afternoon, reports news.com.au
The claim comes after seven days of fruitless searches for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, and after revelations suggesting the plane made several course corrections after the cockpit’s last known contact with air traffic control, the article continues.
The official, who is involved in the investigation, told the Associated Press no motive has been established and no demands have been made known, and it is not yet clear where the plane was taken. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to brief the media.
The official said that hijacking was no longer a theory. “It is conclusive,’’ he added.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to brief the media later today.

A Dad’s Letter to His Son (About the Only Good Reason to Get Married): Viral Post

Sometimes you read a post and know it HAS to be shared. Immediately.

This is one of those posts.

It starts:

Dear Son,
It seems like yesterday you were blowing poop out of your diaper onto your mother’s lap. Yet here we are, on the verge of the birds-and-the-bees conversation. The poop was way easier.
Before we talk about sex, though, I want to talk about marriage. Not because I’ll shun you or shame you if you don’t put them in that order—although I hope you will—but because I believe the only good reason to get married will bring clarity to every other aspect of your life, including sex.
Buddy, you’re probably going to want to get married for all the wrong reasons. We all do. In fact, the most common reason to get married also happens to be the most dangerous: we get married because we think it will make us happy. Getting married in order to be happy is the surest way to get divorced.

It continues… read the rest here.

The ending is my fave part of all. And it's all true:

What’s the secret to a happy marriage? Marry someone who has also embraced the only good reason to get married.
Someone who will commit to dying alongside you—not in fifty years, but daily, as they dismantle the walls of their ego with you.
Someone who will be more faithful to you than they are to their own safety.
Someone willing to embrace the beauty of sacrifice, the surrender of their strength, and the peril of vulnerability.
In other words, someone who wants to spend their one life stepping into a crazy, dangerous love with you and only you.
With my walls down,
Dad
How beautiful is that, eh?

'A Culturally Diverse Comedy Night': Ticket Giveaway!

On the eve of Cultural Diversity Week, internationally renowned performer Joe Avati will head a line-up of comedians for a special show to help raise funds for anti-bullying organisation, Bully Zero Australia Foundation.

A Culturally Diverse Comedy Night will be held at the Abruzzo Club in East Brunswick on Thursday March 13 (the Friday date now cancelled):

More details and ticket information can be found at www.joeavati.com

Reflecting on his own experiences of being bullied in the schoolyard because he was called Giuseppe (he could never find a mug with his name on it!), Joe has teamed up with fellow comedians Tahir, Gabriel Rossi, and Mayumi Nobetsu to put on a fantastic night of stand-up comedy to give a boost to a very worthy cause that has not only affected one in five Australians, but has impacted all four stand-up comedians.

“I am thrilled to have this show supporting Bully Zero Australia Foundation”, says BZAF CEO Oscar Yildiz. Racial bullying is very common, but thanks to the brilliant work of comedians such as Joe, Tahir, Gabriel and Mayumi, multiculturalism is celebrated rather than judged and criticised.”

A credit to this kind of comedy, where they recount stories of their upbringing with humour, is that it has the very opposite effect of bullying, and that is of celebrating different cultures and promoting unity”.

Adds Joe, with a laugh, “I was bullied because of my ‘stinky’ lunch. Mum would make me a sandwich of white bread with salami. My friends had hundreds and thousands on their bread, while we had hundreds and thousands under the mattress," he quips.

Melbourne-based comedian and father of two, Gabriel Rossi, has been on both sides of the fence, but concedes either position is one he’d want to see his children in. “I embarrassed this one kid in front of the entire class once. But he got me back by waiting for me outside the front of the school for weeks. I ended up having to sneak out of school another way”.

Showing bullying exists everywhere, Japanese-born comedian Mayumi Nobetsu had her fair share of it, too. “In Junior High School, more traditional girls treated me like I was different. One particular girl started to convince all of my friends to hang out with her, which meant I was alone during recess and lunch breaks. After a while, I decided to read up on bullying, and I understood that people bully because of jealously, insecurity and immaturity. Fortunately, once I entered senior high school, the bullying stopped”.

Star of Fat Pizza and Housos, popular comedian Tahir is also joining the line-up. For more information and ticket purchase details, head to www.joeavati.com/tour

And Josie's Juice blog readers have the chance to win one of FIVE double passes to the show at the Abbruzzo Club. It's on this Thursday, so enter now! Here's all you need to do:

- Follow me on Instagram and Twitter if you are on those platforms
