What did my eyes just see?
This sensational new clip from David Hasselhoff for a song called 'True Survivor' had me doing a double take today - totally daggy clip from the 1980s, I thought. Gosh, Hasselhoff - you're the king of dagsville, population you.
But nope, turns out it's a brand new clip made to look like it has come straight from that daggiest of eras - and there's a backstory behind it. First, the clip:
'Kung Fury' is a martial arts/comedy movie that’s been generating a internet buzz thanks to its plot line: a renegade cop going back in time to kill 'Hitler', the “Kung Fuhrer.”
'Kung Fury' also features an 1980s sci-fi B-movie madness - witness the street gangs hurtling police cars into the air with a skateboard, time-travelling with the help of a... souped-up Nintendo Power Glove (of course!), and add machine gun-wielding Valkyries riding dinosaurs to that. Perfection.
What started as the result the successful Kickstarter project is now getting a big, hilarious boost in the form of this too-good music video for the 'Kung Fury' theme song, 'True Survivor' - by ’80s icon David Hasselhoff.
